I know you missed me while I was gone and what a first day back. Overall on the day I was up 5, not a bad day to shake off my rust.

If you watched the E-Mini chart today it was pretty radical but still very much tradable. Things seemed to come a lot easier today than the first week but still learning a lot and a long way to go!

Looking at the chart you will see three trendlines. The top two are a carbon copy of the bottom line. In a downtrend you always draw the bottom line first. By drawing these it created a nice parallel trend. Essentially, you just trade the bounces off of each line and be set for the breakouts if goes either below or above.

During trading hours my trendlines were not drawn perfectly like this and it did affect some of my entry and exit points as well as missing out on a few trades. It is extremely important to draw your lines accurately and meaningfully.

Today has been a great day trading and have a perfect setup that I wanted to share.  A lot of what I will be trading is off of trendline and then taking volume and price to back it up. 

Overall what happened here is that price hit the trendline that you see and dropped down. This was backed up by divergence of price/volume at the 1362 mark signaling a strong chance of reversal down. Also, you can see by the horizontal line that the 1358 mark is a major point. I knew that if it broke that it is going to keep going down. 

Currently I am just chasing each bar down until it gets stopped out because I have no reason to get out of it until the 1343 mark which is the previous major low. So far I am over 4 points profit!

I will go into more of the price/volume later because I am still learning it and I am not able to explain it in way that anyone would understand yet. 

Today was a great learning day and one trade from a winning day.

My first trade came early in the morning and it quickly turned into a losing trade. I was able to recognize it and get out before it got too bad. I bought at the first yellow arrow and as you can see it quickly went down and I was out. I was playing for a jump in between my moving averages.

Best trade came next. I was able to draw a trend that started yesterday into today. I bought on the second yellow arrow right when price hit the trendline. Made a nice profit and should have been in longer than I was but I was chasing bars with my stop and got stopped out. As you can see at the red arrow price broke out and I still should have been in the trade at the point making it even stronger.

The third yellow arrow is where I had my second winning trade of the day on the trendline again. The fourth yellow arrow represents a place where I should have shorted. I was eating lunch and missed this trade and it would have been a great one!

As the market was close to closing I trade to make one last trade in between the moving averages again. I shorted and obviously lost on the trade making me slightly down on the day. The lesson learned for me is that when the market is about to close just pull away and take what you have. Also, I missed the good trade off of the bottom trendline just before.

To recap what I learned:

1.       Never take my eyes off the chart so I don't miss good trades

2.       Don't trade close to the end of the market day
